Shannon Lynette Courtney

Shannon Lynette Courtney, 57, of Shawnee - loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend - passed away, along with her devoted husband, Douglas Courtney, on March 5, 2025 in Shawnee, Kansas in a tragic car accident.

Shannon was born December 9, 1967 in Prince George's County, Maryland. Shannon enjoyed everything related to the show, Outlander and really loved having pen pals from all over the United States and overseas. After 12 years of service, Shannon retired as a Food Service Professional from Olathe, USD 233 in 2018.

Shannon is preceded in death by her father, James Buckley (Glenda), mother, Sylvia Jones (Charles). Shannon is survived in death by four siblings, Todd Buckley, Deborah McClellen, Roy Jones, and Chad Jones; five children, John Courtney, Chelsea Dole, Breanna Jones, Dacoda Courtney, and Mandy Ott; and eight grandchildren, Mathew, Jasmine, Adyn, Saryeah, Skylar, Shayenne, Luca, and Adonna.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 10:30am at the Faith Journey Church, 213 Kansas Avenue in Olathe, Kansas.
