May Her

May Her, 100, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025 surrounded by her family.

May Her was born on August 13, 1924, in a small village in Laos to Nyaj Leej Hawj, father, Paaj Yag Hawj, stepfather and Nplas Muas, mother. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Buas Kuam Yaaj, daughter Phoua Her, son Mos Pov Yaaj, adopted son Txab Neej Yaaj, adopted son Neej Yaaj, daughter Lig Yaaj, and daughter Doua Yang. May is survived by daughter Pang Yang, daughter Zoua Yang, adopted daughter Chou Yang, adopted son Khia Wan Xiong, son Tou Yang, daughter Isabella Yang, son Yer Yang, 53 grandchildren, 109 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren.

May's greatest joy and achievement was her large, close-knit family. Her love and generosity for her family knew no bound. She enjoyed gardening, long conversations with loved ones, and was a beacon light to everyone that knew her. Her hugs warmed your hearts and her “hlub hlub” pats on your head healed all hurt.

A celebration of May's life will be held on April 11th and April 12th at Olathe Christian Church, 1115 S. Ridgeview Road, Olathe, KS 66062. Friday, April 11, 2025 Family Time will be from 3:00 PM ~ 4:30 PM with service from 5:00 PM ~ 7:00 PM with dinner to follow.  On Saturday, April 12 lunch will begin at 12:00 PM with family time from 3:00 PM ~ 4:30 PM with service from 5:00 PM ~ 7:00 PM with dinner to follow.  Dinners and lunch will take place at First Hmong CMA Church, 900 S, Honeysuckle Drive, Olathe, KS  66061.  

On Monday, April 14, 2025 a final service will be held from 9:00 AM ~ 10:30 AM at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel, 407 Jerry Street, Castle Rock, CO  80104.  Prayer and Burial to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 880 E. Wolfensberger Rd, Castle Rock, CO  80109.
