Mary Sue (McClaskey) Ercolani, 78 of Olathe, Kansas passed away on December 25, 2022 at her home. Services will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM and the Funeral will begin at 11:00 AM, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Olathe, Kansas. The Rosary will be prayed at 10:40 AM. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Olathe, Kansas. Contributions are suggested to: St. Paul Catholic Church in Olathe, KS.
Mary Sue Ercolani was born in Horton, Kansas on June 10, 1944 to Ted and Thelma (Schuetz) McClaskey. She was one of eight children in the family. Sue attended St. Peter Catholic School in Mercier, Kansas, Powhattan High School in Powhattan, Kansas and Clark Business College in Topeka, Kansas. She was employed at the Santa Fe Railroad Business Offices in Topeka, Kansas. Mary Sue was a USO Hostess in Topeka when she met her husband, Art Ercolani who was stationed at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka, Kansas. They were married in 1966. They settled in Olathe, Kansas and raised three children, Terry, Michelle and Darren. Being a mother and a housewife was her primary occupation. As the children grew older, Mary Sue worked at many places ending her work career at Deluxe Check Printers in Lenexa, Kansas.
Sue was an active member of St. Paul Catholic Church since she arrived in Olathe in July of 1967, serving as a faithful member of the Altar Society and the Women of St. Paul organizations and she worked on many committees at the church and school. She also served as an Officer of the Catholic Charities Auxiliary and helped organize and manage the Catholic Charities Clothes Closet at the Family Support Center in Olathe. She joined the Olathe Garden and Civic Club in 2005 and served as their President for two years. She participated in all activities and on all committees.
Mary Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Thelma, her brothers Patrick and Robert, her sister Ellen Boliski. She is survived by her husband, Art of 56 years, son Terry (Deanna), daughter Michelle (Mike) Davis, son Darren (Stephanie), brother Mike McClaskey (Karen), sister Janet McClaskey, brothers Leo McClaskey and Tim McClaskey (Mici). She also leaves seven grandchildren, Nick, Pete, Jenna, Max, Lauren, Payne and Nathan.
