Gary Raymond Heine

d. August 31, 2023

Olathe, KS

Gary was born June 15, 1941, in Milwaukee, WI where he spent a happy childhood with
parents Raymond and Eileen and sister Maureen. After high school, Gary attended the
Spencerian Business College in Milwaukee and began working for the Great Northern Railroad
and later the Burlington Northern Railroad.

Gary was introduced to his wife Jackie by his co-worker and future brother-in-law. He
proposed on St. Patrick’s Day, and they married on October 6, 1973. The newlyweds made
Minneapolis their first home where all three sons were born. Work brought the family to
Kansas in 1984. Many years were spent raising their sons, celebrating holidays, cheering them
on at various sporting and school events and taking memorable family vacations. Throughout
his life, he and his beloved sister Maureen, shared a special bond and were the closest of
friends - she was a source of great joy, laughter and comfort to Gary.

Gary had a zest for life and loved music, gardening, baking, entertaining, spending time with
friends and meeting new people. A devout Catholic, Gary was committed to his faith and was
active in his church as a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and served as Grand Knight in his
parish in Minnesota.

He is survived by his sons and their wives John and Kelly, Chris and Amber, Ryan and
Michelle; grandchildren Tyler, Allie, Hallie, Isobel and Reed; sister Maureen and many nieces
and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his wife Jacquelyn (Kelly) Heine and parents
