Frank Miner, Jr.

Frank Miner Jr., 82, of Overland Park, KS passed away Tuesday March 14, 2023. Services will be held April 7, 2023 - 10am at Overland Park Baptist Temple 11648 Antioch Rd Overland, KS 66210. Military services will be held on April 10, 2023 - 1:30pm at Leavenworth National Cemetery.

 

Frank was born May 17, 1940 in Kansas City, KS to Frank Junior Miner and Gladys Ruby (Miner) Fish. He grew up in Rosedale, KS and was the youngest of 6 children. Frank joined the marines in 1958-1962. His military years were some of the proudest of his life. He was a jack of all trades; a plumber, electrician, carpenter, bread-man and the last 14 years of his career he was Head Custodian at Westwood View Elementary School in Westwood, KS. He gave his life to the Lord at age 36 and 3 years later met and married his wife Debra Lorenz. He later became the father to Ashley Nicole Kurtzman and Frank Andrew Miner; two of the biggest joys of his life. He was a great friend to many, had a huge heart and contagious laugh.

 

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his sister Dorothy Miller, his sister Doris Horine, his sister Becky Russell, and his brother Ralph Miner. He is survived by his wife Debra, his daughter Ashley, his son Frank, and his sister Norma Aubin.
