Douglas Allen Courtney

Douglas Allen Courtney, 62, of Shawnee - dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend - passed away, along with his loving wife, Shannon Courtney, on March 5, 2025 in Shawnee, Kansas in a tragic car accident.

Douglas was born December 20, 1962 in Kansas City, Kansas. He loved to work on any mechanical device, including rebuilding bikes. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his soulmate, Shannon. Doug always took care of those around him, whether family, friend, or acquaintance. After 16 years of service, Doug retired from the City of Olathe Waste Department in 2018.

Doug is preceded in death by his mother, Ann Moore, and father, Hallie Moore. Doug is survived in death by his four sisters, Laura Hontz, Karen Dilks, Jackie Wiegard, and Joyce Yates; five children, John Courtney, Chelsea Dole, Breanna Jones, Dacoda Courtney, and Mandy Ott; and eight grandkids, Mathew, Jasmine, Adyn, Saryeah, Skylar, Shayenne, Luca, and Adonna.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 10:30am at the Faith Journey Church, 213 Kansas Avenue in Olathe, Kansas
