He pastored Good Samaritan Church in Centerville that served the local community and fed and clothed those in need for many years. Chris took a lead role in the Iowa flood relief efforts of 1993, and partnered with Feed the Hungry, a non-profit ministry founded by his mentor, Dr. Lester Sumrall.
In his free time, Chris enjoyed fishing, boating and grilling on Rathbun Lake, traveling around the country to visit friends and family, and he also had a love for dogs and raised and owned hundreds of pups over the course of his life.
