Charles “Randy” R. Thomas, 75, passed in his sleep on July 12th, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles L Thomas and mother, Doris D. Hammes. He is survived by his wife Pamela Thomas and children Seth Thomas, Clare Thomas-Bridges (John), Michael Thomas (Nicole), and Peyton Thomas (Stephanie).
Born in Charleston, he spent his early years in South Carolina. Randy was a Vietnam war veteran having served as a Navy corpsman. He received his Ph. D. from Tulane University School of Medicine in 1990. His career was dedicated to teaching anatomy, neuroanatomy and developing creative teaching techniques. He taught at various universities including the University of Kansas Medical Center and the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine.
Randy enjoyed many culinary adventures, listening to classical music and was an avid civil war enthusiast. His commanding presence will be greatly missed. Memorial contributions may be made to Wild Souls Wildlife Rescue and Rehab.
