Chad Dustin Howell, 50, passed away on Monday, June 17 at KU Medical Center. Chad was born on January 10, 1974, to Corky and Rob Howell in Topeka, Kansas.
Chad’s childhood was happy and filled with lazy days at the family pond in Wamego with his younger brothers, Brad and Cory, their cousins, and their friends. The boys loved chasing after the dogs, enjoying nature and laughing together. As the Howell children grew, Chad made many lifelong friendships and always considered his friends as brothers.
Chad graduated from Wamego High School in 1992 and pursued his education at Kansas State University. He worked in the financial services industry for 10 years in Topeka, before starting his career at Sprint in Kansas City. Recently, he had been enjoying his time as a dog sitter, where his clients praised his intelligence, sincerity, honesty, and integrity.
We will always remember Chad for his laid-back sense of humor, his intelligence and his sharp wit. Chad’s smile could light up a room. His jokes were fondly known as “Chad jokes/Dad jokes,” and it was such an amazing experience to laugh with Chad. He had a keen sense of style and was always dressed to the nines in crisp polo fashion and awesome shoes. Chad was generous with his time, and his compassionate, gentle nature was appreciated by all. We will desperately miss our beloved friend.
Chad is survived by his mother, Corky, his stepfather, Brian Timberlake, his younger brother Cory, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Chad was preceded in death by his brother Brad and his father, Rob.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the Prince of Peace Church at 16000 W. 143rd St., Olathe, KS 66062 with a brief lunch and reception to follow.
