Ashley Anne (Bailey) Padelli, 36, of Olathe, KS, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 26, 2025. She was born in Overland Park, KS, graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School and attended Johnson County Community College Creative Arts classes. She enjoyed poetry and submitted some of her own compositions to a publishing company, which included them in several books. Recently, she was offered a scholarship to a College of the Arts but was unable to accept due to health reasons.
In spite of the emotional and physical pain Ashley endured most of her life as a "Little Person", those issues did not define her. She was strong in her Christian faith, had a beautiful soul, sparkling eyes, warm smile, an engaging personality with a witty sense of humor and easily captured the heart of everyone she met.
As a single mom, Ashley enjoyed spending quality time with her daughter, Maddison, 12, who also has the condition of Achondroplasia. Together they worked on projects, puzzles, played games, learned a little Spanish, loved eating Rolos and Nerds while watching a good movie or listening to music; and more recently, home-schooling.
Ashley was preceded in death by her beloved grandpas, John Harbert in 2016 and Roger Bailey in 2021. In addition to her daughter, Ashley is survived by her parents Mark and Cheryl Bailey, grandmother Beth Harbert, aunts Kim (Tim) Blankenship, Cindy (David) Pepper, and Kristin (Randy) Asmus. She also leaves many close, loving cousins and dear friends who will miss her forever and remember her always. She loved and was loved by all.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13
